Official Sno-Fest 2009 Button

Dear Readers,

Our Sno Fest Event 2009 is over, and the many people who were involved as volunteers can catch their collective breaths. Positive responses have been coming in from many places in both the local and broader community, and we are grateful that there was an overall feeling of enthusiasm and enjoyment.   First of all, on behalf of our Sno Fest Association, my thanks to all of the volunteers for the many hours and often behind -the- scenes ways in which they helped. The co-operative spirit is alive and well in Marmora!

I also wish to thank our many sponsors and donors for their support in providing both funds and a wide variety of merchandise to give us the necessary backing to make the whole enterprise possible.

Thanks also to all of the mushers who decided that Marmora is a good place to race, some returning from other years and some for the first time, all of whom brought their spirit and energy, and to all of the dogs who brought theirs. Too!

And thanks to all of the staff of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake, to the Madoc Fire Department, to our vet, to the vendors, to our groomer and The Havelock-Marmora District Snow Mobile Association.

And finally, thanks to the many spectators who cheered on the mushers, ate the food, bought things to take home, looked at art and exhibits, and interacted so well with what was going on.

Thanks to one and all, and if I have neglected to thank anyone, my apologies and my thanks to you. As we come into our 32nd year, we are beginning to plan for 2010, and to hope that we may all come together again and make it an even bigger and better event.

So, for a spirit of winter adventure,

THINK FUN, THINK SNO, THINK SNO FEST!!!
