    Sue Korver chaired the meeting. Minutes were taken by Linda Roy.

     that minutes of November 12, 2007 meeting be accepted as circulated.

4 DOG 4 MILE SAT/SUN

6 DOG 12 MILE SAT/SUN

6 DOG 25 MILE WILL BE ON A 2 DAYS RACE SAT/SUN

LITTLE NIPPERS

   There will be a 6 dog, 12 mile instead of a 6 dog sprint.


Headsets - June Vilneff advised she has received two cheques donations.


Advertising - Jennet Honey, of The Shield, advised supplement can possibly

go to Bancroft, Frankford in Quinte West with 1500 handouts to the Snofest

Committee.

    Belleville and Quinte West were not included in the supplement

distribution last year.

    A (centre) spread will be in the Belleville and Quinte West editions

instead of inserting the supplement in those areas because it would be too

costly.

    Jennet will advise Sue re price on Bancroftıs inclusion.

    January 15 is deadline for sponsors, pictures, etc.

    Stories will be put in the editions asap to spark interest in button

sales, etc.

   

Past 30 years buttons - Cindy Redding, The Shield reporter, will contact

June Vilneff to get photo of all the buttons.


 Times on Snofest Events will be included.


Sponsors/Donators - Vera Wylie said there will be 2,000 tickets for sale and

sheıs awaiting first prize. She will be checking with Julia Maynes this week

- she has 2nd and 3rd prizes.

    There are two cheques:   - Mary Provost (for race purse)and  - Bunkerıs

(for weight pull & for race purse)


Signs - Bob Drummond was thanked for seeing the signs are erected.

    Jason is to advise on sign.

    Nancy Sopha has apologized for not getting back to committee.

    Bonnie Danes spoke on sign for Environmental Display and Craft Show plus

a sign for events as they happen & results.

    Craft Show - Legion and Environmental Display - Town Hall.

    Bob Drummond, Bonnie Danes, Barbara Fisher and Richard Lowery will meet

to make a decision regarding signs.


Childrenıs Events - Bonnie Danes will help Gail Taylor with the schools.



Web Site - Chris Gorsline is on board - time frame - race results in an

e-mail format for this coming year's results.  Purse breakdown is available

for web site.  Brian Galloway and Bob Drummond will get together and e-mail

Sue with race purse.


Weight Pull -     Linda and Jerry Roy will e-mail purse amount to Sue so she

can send to Chris for web site.  Bunker's - part of the cheque.


Head Set - Treasurer will give cheque to Brian Galloway


Banquet - June Vilneff advised, although not the Committee's usual practice,

in light of the earlier trouble encountered in finding someone available and

acceptable, she then took the initiative to book Madoc Men's Chorus (15-20)

to entertain for 20-25 minutes.


MOTION by June Vilneff, seconded by Vera Wylie

    to have Madoc Men's Chorus entertain at the 2008 Snofest Banquet.

    Invitational letters will be sent to Reeve Terry Clemens, MP Daryl

Kramp, MPP Leona Dombrowsky and M&L CAO Ron Chittick.

    190 tickets will be prepared by Richard and Wilma.


Sno-Queen Ambassador - has been cancelled, due to family illness.


Buttons - Stew Fisher will check on them this week.


2008 Races - 10 dog 120 mile two day event

6 dog 25 mile two day event(25 miles each day)

6 dog 12 mile two day event(12 miles each day)

4 dog 4 mile two day event (4 miles each day)

4 dog 4 mile Skijorring event (SUNDAY ONLY)

2 dog 2 mile novice event(SATURDAY ONLY) This is for old y2k.

Little nippers event (SUNDAY ONLY)

       Sue Korver will call Shawn Shaw to find when he's visiting schools

with his team.


Santa Parade - Appreciation was expressed for all who prepared and

participated.


Registration - June advised Joan Kennedy  will do Registration Saturday and

Peter Runyan will work Saturday if he  is available.

    Roseanne Ellis will assist if she is not away.


Emcee - Bob Gapes would be thrilled to fill in part of the time as required.


Treasury Report - no change


COMMITTEE REPORTS


Environmental Display - Bonnie Danes is working on it.


Advertising - Norm Bradley is looking after it this year.


MOTION by Jerry Roy, seconded by Vera Wylie

    to present Norm Bradley, June Vilneff, Bob Drummond and John Solmes

with a plaque for their 30 years' service with Snofest.  Presentations will

be done at the 2008 Banquet.                                        Carried

    Richard Lowery will check on plaques and advise.


Weight Pull - Member badges will be provided to all committee members for

identification.   Jerry and Linda Roy have e-mailed Robert Young the photos

Jerry took earlier this year of the Snofest Committee. They are waiting to

hear back from Robert.


Promotional Material  -

MOTION by Brian Galloway, seconded by Gail Taylor

    to purchase two dozen toques with strings                    Carried


    Richard will contact Robert Young regarding the toques.


Mugs  - June Vilneff will hand  out the 30 on hand to mushers when they

receive their cheques.


NEW BUSINESS

    Stew Fisher expressed appreciation for card received from Snofest

Committee.


Car Show - Discussion was held on possibility of having Car Show at the

Legion. Further discussion will be needed after consulting with Robert

Young.


Adventure Race - It was felt this is a tradition which should continue.

Richard Lowery will speak to Anne Philpot.


TAS - Bob Drummond reported that the past contact is no longer working for

TAS.  He's uncertain if the radios for races can come from TAS now.

     Sue Korver is to contact Christian Crowe at TAS, Belleville.


Trails - Bob Drummond does not think we can have a loop unless there is a

lot of snow because the field has been ploughed..
