Marmora Snofest Meeting

      The Chair welcomed the group.


Motion by Norm Bradley, seconded by Vera Wylie

      that minutes of November 27, 2006 be accepted as circulated with an addition of a typed paragraph provided by Norm Bradley ”Norm Bradley’s proposal - to consider advertising in the Ontario Sports Review, providing coverage for the interval between now and SnoFest Weekend.  It would serve the same areas as The Shield and the Community Press, plus additions of Kingston, Bancroft and Peterborough.  Cost for 3 pages $***, for 2 pages $***.  After a lengthy discussion the committee felt we can be covered enough  by both current newspapers by having articles appear

as regularly as possible between now and SnoFest.“    Carried


ADVERTISING

      to go with Quinte Broadcasting, Starboard Communications 95.5/ 100 and Campbellford radio

      John Langley will try to get ‘Quinte Arts Umbrella’ at no charge.

      Linda Roy reported ‘The Howler’ is going to put an ad in at no cost.

      Brian Galloway suggests we  try to put a mailing list together to send flyers to places like veterinary offices, hotels, bed and breakfasts, etc. He distributed the Races Timetable.

      to pay Campbellford Radio Station a total of $***

TREASURY - no change since last meeting


RAFFLE  - Vera Wylie reported she has the 1500 tickets and will be passing them out to committee members at the end of the meeting.


RACES -


Motion - by Brian Galloway, seconded by Stew Fisher

      that the 2 Dog race be moved to Sunday & will be the 2 Dog 2 mile Novice Race.  The purse for the ski-joring race will be $*** plus OFSS points and the same pay out system will be used as all other races. The $** to the Ontario Federation Sleddog Sports is to add us in the Race series.

OTHER EVENTS


      OPP said their rollover display is broken but they will do something for Snofest. Brian Galloway will try to get them for Saturday and Sunday.

      The K-9 Unit will be coming to Snofest.  Richard Lowery will try to get them for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for both Saturday and Sunday.

      to have Horse Drawn Shuttle Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $***

BANQUET  - June Vilneff is checking with Roy Bonisteel as guest speaker.  She needs to know by next week to get the information on the meal tickets.

      Dinner tickets will be provided for:  Darryl Kramp and guest, Leona Dombrowski and guest, Terry Clemens and guest, veterinary and guest.

      to give Roy Bonisteel a gift if there is no charge.  He will receive his dinner free.

      A sympathy card will be sent to Rick Scott’s wife and the Keating family.
