The Chair welcomed those present and read a list of thank yous to those who were involved
with Snofest. (copy of thank-you to filed with secretary)

June also advised that Lee's wife Nancy had had a heart attack and was in hospital. (Lee was a
member of the band we had for entertainment)
Milton Stephens at gate reported to Richard not too many people attended but most of those who
did attend purchased buttons.
Barb inquired about returns to mushers and wanted to know what to do with donations?
Motion by June Vilneff , second Vera Wylie
to send letter to sponsors "Due to the fact your donation towards _________was not used this
year do you wish us to hold this over until next year or return it to you"

Discussions re weekend: People came to see dogs.
8-10 people had balloon ride but it was too windy
Lumberjack
3 men & 2 women, 3 teens & 5 tykes
Craft Sale was great - no complaints and they all said they would be back.
Vera reported 99 had breakfast on Saturday & 143 had brunch on Sunday.
June reported 141 had lunch at the church compared to 177 last year
Linda & Jerry reported 9 dogs took part in the weight pull and every dog and owner received a ribbon
or medal.
Dance - music was good - not too many people - mostly hockey players that got in free - Richard to check on proceeds from bar.
Committee Reports
Trophies - old trophies converted and repaired so all events now have trophies - looking for
permission to have shelf installed to store trophies at Tourist Centre - Richard said we have
permission to install the shelf. A wall display case idea was brought to the floor instead of just a
shelf. June will check for a price for the case and Richard will check for size and permission.
June is writing "thank you" cards and needs a list of who to send them to and post cards from Robert.
Havelock & District Snowmobile club requires a thank you and $100.00 donation -George MacFarlane does the grooming on the trails for us.

Race Items: Brian Galloway Race Marshall
4-5 bibs missing - are they to be replaced - yes
batteries purchased for stop watches - Sue will give Barb the bill
Hall at L'Amable $*****
Paid $****** --- ****** returned but they will retain the $****** deposit from year to year
instead of returning full amount and then having to reissue cheque each year. We were advised next
year the cost would be $*****. Barb will book hall for February 2,3,4 - 2007 and will return form
for hall rental.
Web site - download forms - add release which must be signed at the same time - still a problem
downloading the forms with Adobe.
There was a question from a musher in the 120 regarding rule on steroids - Jim Cunningham
investigating and will reply to Brian who will in turn reply to musher - Norm will forward the e-mail
address of the vet and Brian will e-mail question to him as well.
Volunteer list: we need a list of volunteers ie road crossing etc for the race committee and race
marshall.
Jerry advised that he had contacted a person regarding a road crossing. The man stated very strongly
"No!" - he was never thanked or brought coffee when he did do the crossing.
June to send thank you to Clive for radios - Curtis for the arena - schools - municipality and Terry.
New Business:
Richard advised that RBC Dominion was the new sponsor of a race and had pledged $1000.00
for this race.
Canadian Authors would like to sponsor a writing competition at the schools in addition to the
skate-a-thon.
Elections will be held at next meeting - Report on direction of committee for 2007.
John Langley's report on restructuring committee will also be on the next agenda.
Advertise in the paper re election - we really need young people from the community to get
involved.
Vera read a clipping send to her from John Brumfit from Canfield about allowing a dog into a
hotel room - it made us all smile.
