BUSINESS FROM MINUTES

      Stew Fisher reported Ed Shannon will attend Saturday, February 3rd, with a tractor for shuttling.


TREASURY REPORT

      The Treasurer had the printout statement from December 31, 2006 and will check with bank re balances presented by the Chair given to him from the bank today:

      that a proper treasury report be presented at each meeting

COMMITTEE REPORTS


RACES  - Brian Galloway said the race information is on Sled Dog Central and OFFS.

      Volunteers are needed.

      Madoc Fire Department has been contacted re manning crossing points.

      There is a need to find out type of paint for the dogs.


TRAILS  -  Bob Drummond said the trails were cleared last Friday and they will be groomed this Saturday.


ADVERTISING - Norm Bradley said it has been looked after.   It has been in the Whig Standard.  John

Langley sent an article to ‘The Umbrella’.


FUND RAISING - Vera Wylie said $ from Bunkers’ Restaurant is to go toward Weight Pull expenses.   $

received from Dianne Ray and $ from Pat and Ken Derry.

      28 items have been collected for the Silent Auction.

      A  cheque from George Osborne was presented by June Vilneff for bibs.


WEIGHT PULL - Jerry Roy has approximately 100’ orange fencing and needs about 25’ more plus some

cement blocks.   The Municipal plowing will be done next Thursday.


CHILDREN’S EVENTS - Bonnie Danes said a Free Movie ”8 Below“ is being shown at Marmora Senior School, February 1, 7 pm, at no charge.


BANQUET     June Vilneff presented a pamphlet with a program for those attending.  It shows the happy

hour starting at 5:15 and the program/dinner at 6:15.

     

OTHER - Bob Drummond said a cut-off time needs to be decided and posted in the web site regarding

continuing with race plans or cancelling, depending on the weather.  

      A meeting is planned, if necessary, for 10 a.m., January 29

      that 10 more SnoFest signs be ordered at $ each.

BONFIRE - Bob Drummond advised they have the firewood but need someone to look after the bonfire.


VOLUNTEERS are needed - and various responsibilities need to be confirmed.
