Marmora SnoFest Meeting

The Chair welcomed the group.

that minutes of December 11, 2006 be accepted as circulated

BUSINESS FROM MINUTES

Stew Fisher reported he is still working at procuring someone to attend Saturday, February 3rd,

with a horse drawn wagon for shuttling 10 - 4.


TREASURY REPORT

A bank statement provided showed -  in Marmora Cup account.

The Chair said there was an additional  -  in bank.


COMMITTEE REPORTS


BANQUET - June Vilneff reported: numbers attending banquet must be in by January 30.

Guest speaker, Rose DeLuca, is a Canine Search Specialist.


MOTION by  June Vilneff, seconded by Vera Wylie

that the guest speaker will be paid *** plus two dinners

Invitations have been sent to Marmora and Lake Reeve, Provincial MPP and Federal MP.


June reported Mary Provost has 10,000 place mats prepared and will distribute them.


RACES  -  Brian Galloway said everything is arranged and the only thing needed now is snow.


TRAILS -  Bob Drummond said they are just mud and water and all one can do is hope.

Norm Bradley said the main trail is The Heritage Trail which has not been properly taken care of

by the Eastern Ontario Trails Association.  He stressed the Municipality and County needs to see the

trail is maintained.

Linda Bracken explained she is now the representative from Marmora and Lake Municipality on

the EOTA and she will be attending their meetings.  She said $6,000 has been given to EOTA this year

and she will take all concerns to their meetings.

It was noted the Havelock Snowmobile Club grooms the trails and ATVs should not be allowed

on them during fall, winter and spring.


GATES - Milton Stephens agreed to schedule workers for the gates at the Fairgrounds.


ADVERTISING - Norm Bradley reported it has been looked after.


POST CARDS -

MOTION by Brian Galloway, seconded by Bob Drummond

to spend up to $65 on new postcards

SKATEATHON - Will be held on three different dates for the three different schools


BUTTONS - Stew said the earl bird draws took place and are written up in The Shield and The

Community Press and were to be included in all publications.


DRAW TICKETS - Vera said the tickets are going well.  She requested volunteers to help sell tickets on

Friday at Valumart.


ENVIRONMENT - Bonnie Danes reported she has booked people for the Saturday, 10 - 4, in Marmora

Town Hall.  She also has the bus booked for the two tours.


CHILI CONTEST - The Chair urged committee members to attend the event at Marmora Legion January

27.


WEIGHT PULL - Jerry Roy reported.


NEW BUSINESS


EVALUATION forms were circulated for comments.


ALTERNATIVES for 2008:

.  Robert Young is looking into portable mini gold course

. Stew Fisher reported seeing a sled with wheels on internet


Press articles were discussed for newspapers prior to Snofest.


OTHER

Vera Wylie said Jake's Restaurant is willing to donate to Snofest but want to know where the

money will be spent so their name will be shown.
