Marmora SnoFest Meeting

 Present: Richard Lowery, Chair, Wilma Bush, Secretary, Barb Fisher, Treasurer, Norm Bradley, Stew Fisher, Robert Young,  June Vilneff,  Bonnie Danes, Brian Galloway, Sue Korver, David Marett (and Bob Drummond till 7:30)           


 Chair welcomed those present to meeting.


 MOTION By Stew Fisher, Seconded by June Vilneff that Minutes of April 29, 2005 meeting be accepted

 Business From Minutes

June Vilneff reminded members Snofest Boards in Marmora Tourist Information Building need to be redone and made visible to public.  Richard said he look into the matter.  June also mentioned there is no sign of the Long Distance nor the 6-Mile trophies.

 Accounts - Barb was not called on for a report though she mentioned she had not yet received information she requested from Brian Tipping.


 COMMITTEES


 A. Races

Following a report from Brian Galloway from the Disciplinary Action sub-committee’s May 27 meeting, followed by comments by Norm Bradley,


 MOTION

By Norm Bradley, Seconded by Bob Drummond that the SnoFest Committee has agreed the individual mentioned in the Disciplinary Action Sub-Committee’s report will not be allowed to participate in the 2006 Marmora SnoFest Races.

By Norm Bradley, Seconded by Bob Drummond that the letter read to the SnoFest Committee by the Chair, be accepted and sent by registered mail to the individual mentioned in the Disciplinary Action Sub-Committee’s report.

 B. Buttons

Photos for 2006 Buttons were circulated for members’ consideration and the border chosen was green.


 MOTION

By Stew Fisher, Seconded by Norm Bradley that first choice for picture on the 2006 Button would be the February front page picture in the Community Press of Jordan Fluke; Bonnie Danes to contact Jordan's mother for permission; Stew to get permission of photographer.  If permission received Jordan is to receive free 2006 Button with his choice of number.

 C.  Grants

Community Futures - balance of bills are being sent in before balance will be received.  Trillium Grant - there has been some trouble with acceptance of criteria sent in by committee.


 D .  Amazing Dog Rally

David Marett reported May 28 event, 20 people have joined and 18 dogs participated with $750 raised for the Marmora Medical Centre mortgage.  June Vilneff expressed appreciation to Fishers for all their work setting up, barbecuing, and taking down equipment at the Rally.


 E .   Flea Market

Robert Young reported on plans for the June 18, 19 event.  Concern was expressed over double booking at Municipal Office (Fire Fighters also booked so have moved their event to June 19.

 SnoFest will have a June 19 parade between 9 and 9:30 p.m. of motorcycles and antique cars.

 Bonnie Danes will contact Marmora Senior School Principal to have some Grade 8 boys and girls help with SnoFest setup at Fairgrounds 10 - 11 a.m.

 SnoFest 2006

Richard will book Fairgrounds, community hall etc. right away.


 MOTION

By Stew Fisher, seconded by June Vilneff  All Sled Dog Racers’ registrations will be received in regular mail or e-mail by Race Marshall Brian Galloway

Richard said Anne Philpot had informed him all sponsors have been lined up.

 Next Meeting - will not be held till Fall.  Members will be informed of date later.
