Little Nippers Race Rules

Course:

The course will be the distance of the top end of the horse track to the start/ finish line. And shall be explained by the race official at the drivers meeting.

Number of Dogs:

The musher shall harness no more than ONE DOG.

Rules of conduct:

Shell be the same as Sled Dog Association Rules

Starts:

Dual starts with one heat finishing before the next heat starts.

Equipment:

The Musher will be required to wear a helmet. (SnoFest has 4 that can be used and returned to the start line on completion of your heat.)

No equipment will be required on the sled.

The sled however must conform to normal standards and a child’s dog sled may be used.

Age Eligibility:

The maximum age for entry in this race is (13) thirteen years as of January 1st of the current year.

The minimum age for entry in this race is (8) eight years as of January 1st of the current year.

An exception may be made to this rule IF IN THE OFFICIAL’S OPINION THE

MUSHER IS OF SUCH STATURE AS TO COMPLETE THE RACE SAFELY

AND THE MUSHER CAN GIVE EVIDENCE THAT HE/SHE ARE CAPABLE OF

HANDLING HIS/HER DOG.

Judging:

The race shall be judged on a time basis only.
