That Minutes of September 23, 2005 meeting be accepted

Business From Minutes
- Sue Korver agreed to get information from OPP Constable Peter Valiquette re
Community
Policing in Marmora.
- It was noted only TWO clocks are needed. When they arrive George Osborne will
be invited to
attend meeting to formally present his donation.
- Signs will be looked after by Jason at Exposure.
- ReMax - Diane Ray is not definite yet about getting the balloon for Snofest
- Woodcarver has agreed to come if he is wanted - he needs an area off by himself
- Santa Parade to be held December 2, 7 p.m. - committee of Richard Lowery,
Bonnie Danes and
Gail Taylor - float will be put together at Drummonds’.
- Richard Lowery will look after each member receiving copy of By-Laws.
TREASURER’S REPORT -

Richard announced Ann Philpot had ****** from the Adventure Race for Snofest. It
was agreed
Ann should be invited to a meeting.

That Ann Philpot will be invited to co-ordinate the 2006 Adventure Race.

COMMITTEES
• Races
Brian Galloway reported - committee has not yet met.
They have agreed to hold same races as 2005.
It was agreed there should be two chutes - one for start and one for finish.
Brian provided a schedule for races and events (attached). June Vilneff and
Bonnie Danes will
check confirmation of events on the list.
Decision will have to be made re 120 race start time.
• Buttons
Picture to be used for buttons was e-mailed to Wilma Bush who put it on a disc
which she gave
to Stew Fisher to give to Nancy Sopha.
• Advertising
Norm Bradley asked committee’s wishes regarding where advertising should go this
year - he
will check information with Community Press and The Shield.
It was agreed CHEX TV did a great job covering Snofest.
• Environment -
Bonnie Danes and Gail Taylor will co-ordinate displayers for town hall
• Sponsors
Doug Mitchell has agreed to look after sponsors. Discussion was held re
importance of
recognizing donors who are not sponsors. It was agreed large list(s) of donors
should be displayed
Snofest Weekend so they will be recognized.
An effort will be made to spend all donation from Caressant Care for gifts for
Little Nippers.

• Promotional Material & Inventory
Robert Young showed pictures of different dogs available.
MOTION By Sue Korver, seconded by June Vilneff
To order key chain with dogs for Little Nippers and Dog Flashers.

That 48 canned Huskies be ordered @ $5 each plus tax and Snofest will charge $10
each.

That order be placed for 6 dozen dog key chains - 2 dozen of each colour.

Vera Wylie said she and her husband, Winston, would distribute Promotional
Material to stores
willing to sell it.
• Lumber Jack Event
Robert Young is looking for an 18 - 24“ buzz saw for trophy.
• Children’s Events
Kevin Baker, Madoc, will approached to see if he would bring his petting zoo.
Discussion was held on arranging sleigh rides - and various sites were mentioned.
• Banquet
The Secretary has sent an invitational letter to Jeff Hutchinson, plus two
e-mails to the TV
station, to be guest speaker at the 2006 Banquet. No response to date.

That June Vilneff receive $25 for expenses.

NEW BUSINESS
• Flea Market
Robert Young reported total of $851.77 made at last Flea Market.
It was agreed to hold one in 2006 - perhaps in June.
• Trophies - a list will be made
• Weight Pull Event
Bob Drummond will check.
• Silent Auction -
It was agreed Jennie Killian did an excellent job and has agreed to look after it
again. It was
suggested using the warm room.
• Sled Dog Committee Volunteers
A variety of ways of making them visible at Snofest Weekend was discussed - (arm
bands -
vests, etc.) No decision made.
• Heritage Trail
Bob Drummond discussed some of the concerns.
Richard Lowery agreed to discuss this with the municipality, as well as booking
the facilities
needed for Sled Dog Weekend.
